Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your 5-day build.

Before You Book
How is this different from using Wix or Squarespace?

Those are DIY tools — you still have to design the layout, write and format the content, choose fonts and colours, configure forms, fix mobile issues, and understand SEO. That takes most people weeks of evenings and weekends, and the result usually looks like a template.

With SmartWebPro, a professional designer does all of that for you. You provide your content and logo, we handle everything else. The result is a custom site that looks like you hired an agency — delivered in 5 days, not 5 weeks.

Is this an AI-generated website?

No. A real human designer builds your site. We use modern development tools to work efficiently, but every design decision — layout, typography, colour, spacing — is made by a professional, not generated by an algorithm. That’s why our sites don’t all look the same.

How can you build a custom site in just 5 days?

Traditional agencies start every project with a blank page, which takes weeks. We use a library of pre-built, high-performance code components that we customise to your brand, content, and style direction. We don’t spend time reinventing the layout — we spend our time making it yours.

The 5-day timeline is a structured process, not a rushed one. Each day has a clear purpose: kickoff, design, build, review, launch.

Who is SmartWebPro? Are you a real company?

Yes. SmartWebPro is a division of JD Stride Pty Ltd, a registered Australian business operating since 1999 with over 2000 projects delivered. We’re based in Melbourne, Victoria. You’re dealing with locals, not an offshore team.

Can I see examples of sites you’ve built?

Yes — visit our Choose Your Style page to see live examples in six different design styles. Each one was built using the same 5-day process and technology we’ll use for your site.

What’s the difference between a static site and WordPress?

A static HTML site is pure code — it loads instantly, can’t be hacked through plugins, and never breaks from updates. It’s the best choice for most small business sites that don’t need a blog or frequently changing content.

A WordPress site gives you a content management system, so it’s better if you want a blog, regular news updates, or plan to grow into more complex functionality later. Both options are the same price to build — the only difference is the monthly hosting cost ($99 for static, $137.50 for WordPress).

During the Build
What do I need to provide to get started?

Your logo, the text you want on your pages, and any photos you’d like used. You’ll upload these through our Client Portal after booking.

If you don’t have everything ready, that’s fine — we can start with placeholders and swap them in later. That’s included in the service. If you are uncomfortable writing the final text youself, tell us what the item is in your own words and we will draft the site text.

Do you write the website copy for me?

We handle all layout, formatting, and optimisation of the content you provide. We’ll edit for length, flow, and readability to make sure it works well on the page.

We don’t write your core business copy from scratch (that requires understanding your business deeply), but if you give us rough dot points or an existing brochure, we can work with that and shape it into proper web content.

What happens after I pay the deposit?

You’ll be redirected to our Client Portal where you’ll complete a short brief (about 10 minutes). You’ll tell us about your business, upload your logo, choose a design style, and provide your content. Our clock starts from there — you’ll see a draft within 48 hours.

How do I provide feedback during the build?

On Day 4, you’ll receive a link to preview your live site. Your Client Portal has a built-in feedback tool where you can request specific changes — text edits, colour tweaks, image swaps, layout adjustments. We action your feedback the same day.

What if I don’t like the design?

We include 2 rounds of revisions on Day 4. We’ll work with you to adjust colours, fonts, layouts, and content until you’re happy. Because we use a design brief at the start to understand your preferences, we rarely miss the mark — but if we do, the revision process is there to fix it.

You don’t pay the final balance until you approve the design, so there’s no financial risk.

After Launch
What does “unlimited content updates” actually mean?

It means you can ask us to change text, swap images, update prices, add team members, or modify any content on your existing pages — as often as you like, at no extra cost. It’s included in your monthly hosting plan.

This covers content changes to your existing pages. It doesn’t cover structural redesigns (changing the overall layout or adding complex new features), which would be quoted separately. Most clients use it for things like updating a phone number, adding a seasonal promotion, or refreshing their team photo — and we typically action requests within 24 hours.

Can I edit the website myself?

If you have a WordPress site, you can log in and make edits yourself. But most of our clients prefer to let us handle it — that’s what the unlimited content updates are for. Just email us or use the Client Portal, and we’ll make the change professionally.

If you have a static HTML site, edits go through us. This is actually an advantage — you can’t accidentally break your site, and every change is made cleanly by a professional.

Can I add a blog or online store later?

Yes. If you’re on WordPress, adding a blog is straightforward. For an online store (WooCommerce), that’s a larger project — our parent company JD Stride can scope and quote it for you.

If you’re on a static site and want to move to WordPress later, we can migrate your site. Get in touch and we’ll discuss options.

What if my business changes and I need a full redesign?

Unlimited content updates covers ongoing changes to your existing design. If you need a completely new look — a rebrand, a different layout, or a major structural change — that would be a new project, quoted based on the scope of work. We’d give you a preferred-client rate.

What happens if I want to leave SmartWebPro?

You can cancel hosting anytime with 30 days’ notice. We’ll zip up your complete website files and hand them over — you can host them anywhere. We don’t hold your business hostage. You own everything.

Pricing & Plans
How much does it cost?

The complete 5-day build is $2,640 incl. GST. You pay a $770 deposit to secure your build slot, and the remaining $1,870 after you approve the design. No hourly rates, no hidden fees.

After launch, hosting and maintenance (including unlimited content updates) starts at $99/month for static sites or $137.50/month for WordPress. See the full breakdown on our Prices page.

What if I need more than 5 pages?

Additional pages are $220 each (one-off). You can add them during the initial build or anytime after launch. Most small businesses find 4–5 pages covers everything they need: Home, About, Services, Contact, and one more.

Do I own my website?

Yes, 100%. Once the final balance is paid, you own the code, the design, and all the content. If you ever leave, we hand over everything. No lock-in, no rental fees, no strings.

Is there a lock-in contract?

There’s a service agreement for the initial build that defines the scope of work. But there’s no lock-in for the monthly hosting — you can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice. We keep clients by doing good work, not by trapping them.

Do you offer SEO services?

Yes. We offer an ongoing SEO package at $660/month for businesses that want to actively improve their search rankings. Every site we build includes basic SEO foundations (clean code, fast loading, mobile-friendly, proper page titles), but the monthly package adds keyword research, content optimisation, and ongoing improvements. See Prices for details.
